ABOUT
GINA’S STORY
“Live life to the fullest.” That’s exactly how Gina Putman lived. She dreamed boldly, chased what set her soul on fire, and followed her heart with unwavering courage. After many successful years in the music industry, Gina decided to step away from what she knew and return to school to pursue her true passion—hair and makeup. A lifelong resident of Wilson County, she was building her clientele at BBC Nashville and thriving in her craft when she unexpectedly passed away in August 2019. Shortly after her passing, a group of Gina’s closest friends came together to honor her legacy and continue the light she brought into the world. With that love and purpose, The Gina Putman Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was created.
Shortly after her passing, a group of Gina’s closest friends came together to honor her legacy and continue the light she brought into the world. From that love and purpose, The Gina Putman Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was created.
From the beginning, the mission was clear:
1. Keep Gina’s memory alive, and
2. Provide a scholarship to help aspiring beauty professionals follow their dreams, just as she did.
Each year, the Foundation awards a scholarship to a deserving recipient pursuing an education in Cosmetology, Aesthetics, or Barbering—lifting financial burdens and empowering them to step confidently into their future.
Scholarship funds have been awarded annually since 2020 and continue to grow with the goal of one day covering full tuition. Gina believed it’s never too late to follow your dreams—and through this foundation, her belief continues to change lives.
